at the risk of getting ahead of ourselves here's some exciting news about an event we have planned in August.
our curated show, '_utility', will be a satellite event for Craft Cubed 2012, a festival run by the wonderful folk at Craft Victoria.
there's a whole suite of shows between now and then, but nonetheless, it's very exciting and worth spreading the word about early on in the piece. click on the logo below to get some more info:

crafty conjuring
well today i just met two incredibly talented people (Tatsuyoshi and Hokisha) in their fantastic shop on gertrude st in fitzroy. thoughtful, humble and amazingly gifted, they will be participating in an event we have planned in august this year. for a little insight into what these particular practitioners do, click on the image below to go to their website.
there'll be some more details about the august show coming up very soon but we can tell you it will be an exhibition of creative work from a variety of media, across art, craft and design. it will be tied in to a satellite event with that marvelous organisation Craft Victoria and deal with the ideas of use-value, functionality, and the blurry boundary between art and craft.
as another sneaky teaser, and by way of sheer coincidence there is a japanese connection here too, click on the image below to see work by another participant - Akira Akira.
