ABC Arts: artist profile on Jason Waterhouse

Artist profile on Jason Waterhouse by ABC Arts!

In October this year, the co-owner of Stockroom arts complex in Kyneton - and award-winning sculptor - Jason Waterhouse was interviewed for a story about cars in art on ABC-TV program, Art Nation.

A full artist profile on Jason is now online, featuring not only his McClelland piece 'Glory Days', but other work by him as well. The story was recorded on-site at Stockroom, and also features great photos by Magali Gentric, who photographed Jason in action with his circular grinder, when he was finishing the piece.

'Glory Days' is on display right now, part of the 2010 McClelland Sculpture Survey & Award. The exhibitions runs until July 17, 2011, co-sponsored by the Frankston City Council, which runs a popular vote prize:

"The Frankston City People’s Choice Award of $20,000 is voted for by visitors to the McClelland Sculpture Survey exhibition. The Award, sponsored by Frankston City Council, is given to the artist whose sculpture attracts the most votes from the general public... The 2010 recipient of the $20,000 Frankston City People’s Choice Award will be announced on June 18 2011 at the McClelland Gallery + Sculpture Park.

So, hint hint, vote for 'Glory Days' in the Peoples Choice Award! And check out the Art Nation story.

Go Jason!
